About Me

Hi, I'm Prue.

I'm a mother of two girls, a confirmed homebody, and an enthusiastic amateur photographer who still has no idea how to use most of the functions on my camera.  I like to cook, sew, read, grow vegetables, and fold the washing.  I really do!

I like pasta.  I also like puns.  I hate bananas and mushrooms.  I love gin and tonic, op-shopping, crochet, champagne and cheese.  I'm totally addicted to the Real Housewives.

I'm originally from the Adelaide Hills.  I moved to outback Queensland for a job and met the man I would marry within two weeks of arriving.  We moved in together in Perth, got married, had two babies in quick succession, and then realised it's really bloody hard raising little kids when you're far from family.

We wanted land, we wanted our girls to range over acres the way we both did as children.  We wrote down the pros and cons (we actually did - NERDS), and finally decided to move to my husband's hometown in New Zealand.   To be near his family, and to find those acres of land that we first discussed over beers in an outback pub.

As I write this, we're moving to our own little ten acres (hence the blog title) in less than a month.  Oh my god it's going to rain all the time isn't it.

It's been a fairly circuitous route to get here but every moment, every perceived misstep, has led to this point.  I'm so excited to get started on our new adventure.

I'll be writing about our little farm, the garden, sharing my favourite recipes, and probably complaining about all the rain in between.
